Music Night at Revolution home outfitters December 8, 2011

Hello everyone, it’s been a while.  We’ve been busy working on some exciting things at the store. One of the changes you’ll notice is a slight name change. We are now Revolution home outfitters. We feel this name best reflects what we offer. Thanks to all who contributed their creative suggestions.

We are also working on the entertainment aspect of what we do. The response to our musical nights has been so positive we are committed to making it a regular event at the space. Tonight we will be featuring live music from The Jimmy Lee Ramblers, a complimentary dinner by Pamela at Your Service, a little wine and lots of fun. Come one come all, starting at 7:00 going ’til 10:00; but history has shown that it will probably go on much later. Hope to see you there.

We had a bit of excitement this past week. We were invited to appear on Nostalgia Alley, hosted by Mike Sobel on SOMAtv.  I had been on previously but it was Lorraine’s first appearance. Look for her modeling Lisa Battaglia’s hats which were also featured. Great fun.

Industrial Cafe Table 2

Close Up

As winter bids us a fitful, reluctant farewell and Spring makes shy attempts at a return, my creative urges have been stirred. For several months now I have longed to be outside, building something, a table, a wine rack, anything really. I love to while away the hours out of doors in  creative and industrious pursuit. It gives me a great sense of accomplishment at the end of the day to step back and see what I have made. Here is a peek at my latest design. It is a cafe table with legs of industrial pipe, and barnwood top. This table is available with different custom tops such as marble, glass, or a more rustic naturally distressed barnwood. I still have to stain the top, but I love how it looks already.  What do you think?

Ye Shall Know Them By Their Hats February 26, 2011

There is  a select group of ladies now gracing the town of Maplewood; they are stylish, they are confident, and they are wearing hats…Lisa Battaglia originals to be exact. The cocktail party launch of Lisa’s designs was a huge success and we are grateful to all who were able to attend. The evening had the welcomed effect of producing an instant LB fan club; ladies vied for space in front of the oversized mirror, lisa Battaglia hat 3eagerly and giddily trying on hats.

I must say, while Lisa’s Winter line offered the promise of super stylish warmth, the Spring collection provided a much needed splash of color to what has turned into a long, gray winter. Everyone left happy. So…if you spot a gal in town with a little attitude to her swagger, check out her hat. We have a pretty good hunch where she got it.

Lisa Battaglia hat 2Tonight”s the night. We are officially launching Lisa Battaglia’s line of designer hats at a cocktail party in her honor at our store at 97 Baker Street in Maplewood. Lisa will present her current collection and give us an exclusive preview of her new Spring line. The evening will feature the musical stylings of Jay Dougherty of the Jaybirds.

This represents a leap in a new direction for us at Revolution and we are thrilled. Response to Lisa’s designs has been amazing, and we absolutely love the new dimension her collection adds to our store. Looking forward to great things ahead and of course one terrific evening. Come join us.

Love is Always in Fashion February 14, 2011

Le Baiser de L'Hotel de Ville, Paris 1950

The stress of planning a romantic evening for your significant other notwithstanding, Valentine’s Day has got to be one of the most beautiful days of the year. It has elements of the best of so many other holidays.  It is a day of fireworks (figuratively speaking). It is a day of gift giving. And most importantly, it is a day to give thanks… for the special person in your life. Celebrating love, well, that just never gets old. Happy Valentine’s Day to one and all.

Announcing Lisa Battaglia at Revolution February 8, 2011

One look at Lisa Battaglia’s line of striking hats and it is clear why this designer’s collection continues to turn heads.

Lisa Battaglia designs hats that reinterpret vintage aesthetics to live in the modern world. Drawing on her unusual free-form technique and her uncanny fashion instinct, she creates dramatic hats that recall a bygone era and yet are utterly of the moment. Each hat is a geometric work of art that magically provides its wearer with more than one look through a simple turn of the brim.”

Featured in W, Glamour, and In Style magazine among others, Lisa’s classically designed hats are at once style statements and totally wearable…a true marriage of vintage and modern, making them, we think, a perfect fit for Revolution.

Help us welcome Lisa to our store. Stop in and see the collection today.
